Profile

Dr Malik Çağlar is a serial entrepreneur and investor who has spent twenty-five years building and financing energy, defence and infrastructure businesses across Türkiye, the Gulf and the wider Middle East.

He is Chairman of M.D.H. International Consulting, which he founded in 1999 and which has since advised on projects worth USD 5.4 billion across the energy, defence and healthcare sectors, with a professional team focused on energy investment and project financing and a presence spanning Ankara, Istanbul, Amman, Damascus, London and New York. He is also a Director of Mc Investments Holding Limited in the United Kingdom, through which he invests in emerging energy technologies.

Alongside this commercial track record, Dr Çağlar has worked extensively at government level. He serves on the Turkish Parliamentary Energy Council as a wind energy expert, spent three years co-drafting Türkiye's renewable energy legislation, advises the energy committee of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, and founded the Turkish Solar Energy Investments Association, which he presides over. He was the first adviser to Turkish state institutions on public-private partnership projects in applied bio-systems.

His operating experience spans both conventional and renewable energy. He holds a patented extraction technology for unconventional hydrocarbons and owns producing mineral assets in the Middle East; he has developed hydroelectric capacity in Türkiye, conducted feasibility work on 165 MW of solar projects, and evaluated wind technology with manufacturers including Vestas and WinWinD.

As Chairman of Enover, he now leads a business applying nanotechnology to heating and cooling systems, with more than USD 6 million invested in the underlying technology. Dr Çağlar qualified as a medical doctor from Karadeniz Technical University in 1995.
